ProPlayer

• yuv 4:2:0 (planar) and 4:2:2 (interleaved) 8-bit playback
• 8-bit/10-bit 4:2:0 and 4:2:2 compressed video, all common video compression and container formats are supported (including Mpeg2 and H264)
• ProPlayer supports Black-Magic DeckLink and Intensity PCIe and USB3 cards. There are several options available supporting HD-SDI/Optical-SDI/HDMI up to 1080P60. Please refer Black Magic website for details. Other video card vendors might be considered in future
• All standard SD and HD formats are supported up to 1080P60. Both NTSC and PAL frame rates
• Up to two simultaneous side-by-side playbacks
• Split screen mode - vertical and horizontal split
• YUV channel filter (YUV, Y, U, V and UV)
• Multi Program Transport Stream support
• ProPlayer can drive up to two BlackMagic video cards. In a single output card mode, first or second channel can be routed to the card, or the screen can be split in several different ways, including vertical and horizontal split. In a dual card mode, the first card can receive the video in the same way as in the single card mode, the second card always receives the second channel video

• raw video in file containers (avi for instance) is not currently supported
• audio playback is not yet supported
• rescaling for yuv playback is not currently supported. Video with smaller than full screen resolution will be black padded as opposed to scaled up to cover the entire screen (528x480 for instance). Compressed video does not have this limitation.
• some TVs do not support 480i60 mode over HDMI and if this format is selected in ProPlayer with Intensity Pro HDMI video card, the video card will switch to 480p60 using frame doubling without deinterlacing the video first and the outcome is that the video will not be deinterlaced. Unfortunately, the Intensity Pro card does not currently notify ProPlayer about this situation. The only way to correct this problem is to use another TV which supports 480i60 over HDMA or load the video as HD (1080i60). It is possible that this behavior can be experienced with other HDMI output cards
• when a new bitstream is selected, its parameters are auto-detected. In some infrequent cases, some parameters (mostly just the frame rate) is incorrectly detected. If this happens, the proper parameters need to be manually selected. For any subsequent playback, the new parameters will be used
• if parameters of an existing compressed video file are changed (the file is overwritten with a new one), ProPlayer will not automatically recognize the change and it will continue to use the previously registered parameters. If this happens, please open the parameters dialog to update ProPlayer with the new parameters
• 10-bit playback is currently reduced down to 8-bit output, only the upper 8-bits are displayed
